Hello friend! My name is LEE JAMES and I want to welcome you to my personal webpage where I am attempting to give something up for LENT and to make it mean something by raising some funds for charity!

My great friend Neil Warman and I don't have much in the way of things that we splurge to excess on, but we are keen, almost obsessive FLIGHT SIMULATOR virtual pilots who fly the world on our computers most times during the week, for BRITISH AIRWAYS VIRTUAL the virtual counterpart to the real world Airline (for more information on this great Virtual Airline, click HERE). Between us, we have something approaching 24,000 flying hours over more than 20 years of virtual flying!

With almost everyone around us giving up something for LENT, we decided that we wanted to do it, but also that we wanted it to be a challenge and to really mean something by seeing if we could raise a few pounds for a good cause. We have selected ST. CATHERINES HOSPICE in Crawley, West Sussex, United Kingdom to be the beneficiary of any funds we raise. This charity is one supported by Gatwick Airport Limited, where Neil and I both work and the Charity specialises in providing care for those people near the end of their lives. A very worthy cause!

So - for 40 days from March 5th to April 14th 2014 , Neil and I be giving up our most treasured obsession - virtual flying! For me, I will be attempting to get fit and to do some jobs I really need to do! For Neil it will probably be just as difficult!

Just to make this whole endevour interesting, Neil and I will be carrying SEATPLANS for a BOEING 747-400 and BOEING 777-200 aircraft around with us at work. For the people that we meet at work and elsewhere, we will be offering "VIRTUAL SEATS" on a planned simulated flight that we will both undertake, in real time, after Lent is over. Our international friends can also purchase a seat by making a donation using the link further down this page.

To purchase a virtual seat on one of our two flights, all you need to do is donate ONE UK POUND STERLING (£1.00) or the equivelent in your chosen currency, to the ST. CATHERINE'S HOSPICE Charity via the link shown on this page. International members can donate in Dollars, Euros or any of the currencies shown using a credit or debit card or via PAYPAL. Those of you who donate after seeing this page, when you have made your donation, please email me at - leejames@hctl.co.uk - telling me what you have donated (all donations kept confidential) and also your chosen favourite destination from the choices at the upper left of this page. This will let Neil and I know that you have donated so we can keep a tally of how much we have raised. And we will then allocate you a "virtual seat" on one of the two aircraft that will operate the virtual flight to the winning destination as voted by you, the people who donated. All seats will be on a first come, first served basis. All funds donated either directly online or via our physical efforts will go straight to this charity. A seating plan will appear soon showing our progress in filling up the jets. We will also produce a PASSENGER LIST (first names only) to show who will be on the flight. We intend to film the flight and release the video on YouTube.
